So today we pulled off a few layers from the kitchen ceiling. This is Beaver Board, probably put up between 1915 and 1920. I am still reeling over the color. It looks as though they painted a tank for the military and had some leftover, so they just put it on the cabinets and called it good. I am a huge fan of old things, but this color in a kitchen I haven't seen before. Still no hidden treasure, no $100 bills used for insulation...oh well.

And for the record, my friends, blogging about a remodel is much more fun than the actual remodel. I'm not sure what I will write about when I run out of remodel money. Maybe I will blog about what I wish I had the money to do...
